Blessing of Animals on Saint Francis Day: The Episcopal Church provides a service for the Blessing of Animals in The Book of Occasional Services on p. 100 (available online). If the blessing of animals is a regular feature of the life of the worshipping community it may be pastorally appropriate to either anticipate or transfer the Feast of Saint Francis to a Saturday or another free day and use this or another appropriate service for the blessing of animals.
