Eves

All Sundays, Holy Days with Precedence, the Patronal Feast or Feast of Title, and Feast of Dedication have an eve. This means the start of the observance of the day begins the evening of the day before. In practice, this means that an evening celebration of the eucharist the day before a Sunday or a Holy Day with Precedence is of that Sunday or Holy Day. These days have two evening prayers, the first being the evening before and the second being the evening of the day. When there is a conflict in precedence between two eves, a note is provided. Although eves are often referred to as Vigils, this is not strictly correct.
