Some communities choose to ensure the integrity of the seasons of Advent, Lent, and Easter. They keep the readings and colour for the season, except on Holy Days, and remember the person whose memorial or commemoration is noted in the calendar by using the variable prayers for that memorial or commemoration but not the readings, or by remembering the person in a thanksgiving in the Prayers of the People. Some do not observe commemorations (and often memorials) at all during these seasons. When memorials are kept in Advent, Lent, and Easter, the colour of the season is used. The Patronal Festival or Feast of Title, and Feast of Dedication may not be transferred to a Sunday in Advent, Easter, or Lent.
